Taxonomy
Trioza subproximata was named by Becker-Migdisova (1964). Its type specimen is PIN 254/1253, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Vishnevaya Balka creek, outcrop 3 bed IX, Stavropol (PIN collection 254), which is in a Miocene lacustrine shale in the Russian Federation.
