Taxonomy
Clavellaria longiclava was named by Zhang (1989). Its type specimen is 840006, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil.

It was recombined as Pseudoclavellaria longiclava by Blank et al. (2009), Taeger et al. (2010) and Archibald and Rasnitsyn (2023).
