Taxonomy
Cretodytes incertus was named by Prokin et al. (2013). Its type specimen is PIN 4626/628, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Chernovskie Kopi (PIN collection 4626), which is in a Barremian terrestrial horizon in the Doronino Formation of the Russian Federation.
