Baeini was named by Ashmead (1893). It is extant.
It was reranked as the subfamily Baeinae by Kononova (2010); it was synonymized subjectively with Scelioninae by Johnson (2016).
It was assigned to Proctotrupidae by Meunier (1905); to Scelionidae by Kononova (2010); and to Scelioninae by Ashmead (1893), Masner (1976), Murphy et al. (2007), Chen et al. (2021).
