Culicoides balticus

Taxonomy
Culicoides (Oecacta) balticus was named by Szadziewski (1988). Its type specimen is MZW 19193, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (Museum Ziemi collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.

It was recombined as Culicoides balticus by Borkent (2013), Pielowska et al. (2018), Szadziewski (2018) and Borkent and Dominiak (2020).
