Taxonomy
Tingicader cervus was named by Golub and Popov (1998). Its type specimen is GPIH 3801, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Scheele collection, University of Hamburg, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Tingicader.
