Taxonomy
Apheloscyta xiangdongensis was named by Lin (1986). Its type specimen is NIGP 70054, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is KHG 52-upper, Chengtanjiang, Liuyang City, which is in a Norian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Zijiachong Formation of China.
