Taxonomy
Dicranomyia speciosa was named by Krzemiński (2001). Its type specimen is BMNH In. 36692, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Island of Fur (BMNH coll), which is in a Ypresian offshore ramp mudstone in the Moler Formation of Denmark.
