Taxonomy

Sciara botuli was named by Meunier (1904). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber, Konigsberg collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.

It was recombined as Trichosia (Leptosciarella) botuli by Mohrig and Röschmann (1994), Röschmann and Mohrig (1995); it was recombined as Leptosciarella botuli by Menzel and Mohrig (2000); it was recombined as Leptosciarella (Leptosciarella) botuli by Mohrig and Röschmann (2005).

Synonyms

Sciara sendelina was named by Meunier (1904). It is an inclusion in amber.

It was synonymized subjectively with Trichosia (Leptosciarella) tanypeza by Evenhuis (1994); it was synonymized subjectively with Trichosia (Leptosciarella) botuli by Mohrig and Röschmann (1994).
Sciara tanypeza was named by Meunier (1899). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber, Konigsberg collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.

It was recombined as Trichosia (Leptosciarella) tanypeza by Evenhuis (1994); it was synonymized subjectively with Trichosia (Leptosciarella) botuli by Mohrig and Röschmann (1994).
