Taxonomy
Trichosia (Leptosciarella) macrociliata was named by Mohrig and Röschmann (1994). Its type specimen is MfN MB.I 890, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Berendt collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.
It was recombined as Leptosciarella macrociliata by Menzel and Mohrig (2000); it was recombined as Leptosciarella (Leptosciarella) macrociliata by Mohrig and Röschmann (2005).
