Taxonomy
Sciara orientalis was named by Meunier (1904). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber, Konigsberg collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Trichosia (Leptosciarella) orientalis by Mohrig and Röschmann (1994), Röschmann and Mohrig (1995), Röschmann and Mohrig (1995); it was recombined as Leptosciarella orientalis by Menzel and Mohrig (2000); it was recombined as Leptosciarella (Leptosciarella) orientalis by Mohrig and Röschmann (2005).
It was recombined as Trichosia (Leptosciarella) orientalis by Mohrig and Röschmann (1994), Röschmann and Mohrig (1995), Röschmann and Mohrig (1995); it was recombined as Leptosciarella orientalis by Menzel and Mohrig (2000); it was recombined as Leptosciarella (Leptosciarella) orientalis by Mohrig and Röschmann (2005).
