Taxonomy
Eriocera plastica was named by Alexander (1931). Its type specimen is BMNH 18699, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber (BMNH coll), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Hexatoma (Eriocera) plastica by Evenhuis (1994).
