Taxonomy
Limonia luca was named by Krzemiński and Gentilini (1992). Its type specimen is MCSN Gentilini 292, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Monte Castellaro (MCSN collection), which is in a Messinian lagoonal marl in the Gessoso-solfifera Formation of Italy.
