Taxonomy
Spinocharinus steinmeyeri was named by Poschmann and Dunlop (2011). Its type specimen is PWL2010/5293-LS, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Güllesheimer Bach, Bürdenbach, Westerwald (Mainz collection), which is in a Pragian estuary/bay siltstone in Germany. It is the type species of Spinocharinus.
