Taxonomy
Bittacus biamensis was named by Novokshonov (1993). Its type specimen is PIN 3429/312, a hindwing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Bolshaya Svetlovodnaya, Biamo (PIN collection 3429), which is in a Priabonian lacustrine diatomite in the Russian Federation.
