Valdiscytina jarzembowskii was named by Popov (1993). Its type specimen is BMB 018461, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Clockhouse Brickworks (BMB collection), which is in a Hauterivian lagoonal sandstone in the Weald Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
