Taxonomy
Architipula trichoclada was named by Zhang (2006). Its type specimen is NIGP 200400, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Daohugou (NIGP 2004 collection), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Daohugou Formation of China.
