Taxonomy
Biamoaphis antiqua was named by Heie (1989). Its type specimen is PIN 3419/1350, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Bolshaya Svetlovodnaya, Biamo, layer 1 (PIN collection 3429), which is in a Priabonian lacustrine diatomite in the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Biamoaphis.
