Minutoma yathribi was named by Kaddumi (2005). Its type specimen is ERMNH 231-2, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Jordanian Amber (Kaddumi ERMNH collection), which is in an Albian terrestrial amber in Jordan.
