Megatryphon mortiferus

Taxonomy
Megatryphon mortiferus was named by Cockerell (1924). Its type specimen is DMNH-1966(1974), an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Florissant (Colorado Mus. Nat. History Collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado. It is the type species of Megatryphon.
