Taxonomy
Archicercopis falcata was named by Handlirsch (1939). Its type specimen is Ernst Moritz Arndt Universitat Greifswald 57/5 and is an impression. Its type locality is Dobbertin, Mecklenburg (Greifswald collection), which is in a Toarcian offshore claystone in Germany.
