Taxonomy

Bellinurus danae was named by Meek and Worthen (1865). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mazon Creek (University of Illinois collection), which is in a Westphalian D deltaic mudstone in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois.

It was recombined as Belinurus danae by Woodward (1867); it was recombined as Prestwichia danae by Chernyshev (1927) and Chernyshev (1928); it was recombined as Euproops danae by White (1884), Raymond (1944), Copeland (1957), Anderson (1994), Babcock and Merriam (2000), Dunlop et al. (2013), Lamsdell (2016), Haug and Rötzer (2018), Shpinev (2018) and Lamsdell (2020).

Synonyms

Euproops amiae was named by Woodward (1918). It is a mold. Its type locality is GSC 616, Donkin No. 6 mine dump, Glace Bay, which is in a Westphalian C/Westphalian D fluvial-lacustrine siliciclastic in Canada.

It was synonymized subjectively with Euproops danae by Anderson (1994), Babcock and Merriam (2000) and Lamsdell (2020).
Euproops kilmersdonensis was named by Ambrose and Romano (1972). Its type specimen is BMNH It. 61012, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Kilmersdon Colliery tip, no. 9 seam, which is in a Westphalian D terrestrial mudstone in the Farrington Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Euproops danae by Anderson (1994), Babcock and Merriam (2000), Dunlop et al. (2013) and Lamsdell (2020).
Euproops darrahi was named by Raymond (1944). Its type specimen is MCZ 4691, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fair Oaks, Ambridge, which is in a Westphalian D fluvial-lacustrine shale in the Glenshaw Formation of Pennsylvania.

It was synonymized subjectively with Euproops danae by Anderson (1994), Babcock and Merriam (2000) and Lamsdell (2020).
Euproops graigolae was named by Dix and Pringle (1929). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Clydach Merthyr Colliery, roof of Graigola Seam, which is in a Westphalian D terrestrial shale in the Pennant Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Euproops danae by Anderson (1994), Babcock and Merriam (2000) and Lamsdell (2020).
Euproops gwenti was named by Dix and Pringle (1929). Its type specimen is BGS 48523/48524 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gellideg, roof of Mynyddislwyn Seam, which is in a Westphalian D fluvial-lacustrine shale in the Pennant Sandstone Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Euproops danae by Anderson (1994), Babcock and Merriam (2000) and Lamsdell (2020).
Euproops islwyni was named by Dix and Pringle (1929). Its type specimen is BGS 48526/48525 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gellideg, roof of Mynyddislwyn Seam, which is in a Westphalian D fluvial-lacustrine shale in the Pennant Sandstone Formation of the United Kingdom.

Euproops packardi was named by Willard and Jones (1935). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Culm pile at Baltimore Mines, Parsons, which is in a Westphalian D fluvial-lacustrine shale in the Llewellyn Formation of Pennsylvania.

It was synonymized subjectively with Euproops danae by Anderson (1994), Babcock and Merriam (2000) and Lamsdell (2020).
Prestwichia (Euproops) scheeleana was named by Ebert (1892). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Zeche Wolfsbank, Röttgersbank seam, which is in a Westphalian A fluvial-lacustrine shale in the Bochum Formation of Germany.

It was recombined as Euproops scheeleana by Dix and Pringle (1929); it was synonymized subjectively with Euproops danae by Anderson (1994), Babcock and Merriam (2000) and Lamsdell (2020).
Euproops thompsoni was named by Raymond (1944). Its type specimen is MCZ 4669, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wilmington strip mine, Mazon Creek, which is in a Westphalian D interdistributary bay mudstone in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois.

It was synonymized subjectively with Euproops danae by Anderson (1994), Babcock and Merriam (2000) and Lamsdell (2020).
Prestwichianella zalesskii was named by Chernyshev (1927). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sofievka village (feuille VI-21), which is in a Westphalian A/Westphalian B fluvial-lacustrine siliciclastic in the Smolyaninovskaya Formation of Ukraine.

It was synonymized subjectively with Euproops danae by Shpinev (2018) and Lamsdell (2020).
Prestwichianella nitida was named by Dix and Pringle (1929). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Clydach Merthyr Colliery, roof of Graigola Seam, which is in a Westphalian D terrestrial shale in the Pennant Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Euproops danae by Anderson (1994), Babcock and Merriam (2000) and Lamsdell (2020).
Euproops laticephalus was named by Raymond (1944). Its type specimen is MCZ 4692, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Near Pottsville, roof shale of Salem Coal, which is in a Stephanian C fluvial-lacustrine shale in the Llewellyn Formation of Pennsylvania.

Euproops colletti was named by White (1884). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Durkee's Ferry, which is in a Westphalian D paralic shale in Indiana.
