Taxonomy
Shaandongia longxianensis was named by Hong (1985). Its type specimen is TIGMR Ld104, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is DyF2, Yaochagou, Niangniangmiao, Longxian County, which is in a Ladinian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Yanchang Formation of China. It is the type species of Shaandongia.
