Taxonomy
Euproteaciphyllum tasmanicum was named by Jordan et al. (1998) [Type locality: Early Eocene sediments on the Brooker Highway, near Hobart.
Other specimens examined: BH5, BH6.]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is Holotype: BH11, stored in the Department of Plant Science, University of Tasmania., a leaf. Its type locality is Brooker Highway, which is in an Eocene terrestrial mudstone/sandstone in Australia.
