Taxonomy
Eucryphia microstoma was named by Hill (1991) [Type Locality: Regatta Point, South-western Tasmania. Specimens Examined: the holotype, and several pieces of dispersed cuticle which are stored with it.]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is Holotype: RPE-028, stored in the Department of Plant Science, University of Tasmania., a leaf. Its type locality is Regatta Point Eocene, which is in an Eocene fluvial-deltaic mudstone/sandstone in Australia.

R. S. Hill 1991leaf or leaflet probably entire-margined, > 7 cm long, 1.4 cm wide, base and apex unknown. Cuticle with relatively poorly formed peltiform extensions on the abaxial leaf surface and small unicellular trichome bases on both leaf surfaces. Mean stomatal length 10.9 µm width 7.3 µm. Subsidiary cell arrangement Brachyparacytic, with relatively small proportion of the guard dell wall common with the pair of subsidiary cells.
