Euproteaciphyllum lomatioides was named by Jordan et al. (1998) [nom. nov., based on Proteaciphyllum lomatioides R.J.Carp. & G.J.Jord. (Australian Systematic Botany 10: 554(1997)), nom. illeg.]. It is not extant.

Synonyms
  • Proteaciphyllum lomatioides was named by Carpenter and Jordan (1997) [Type Locality: Cethana, Tasmania.]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is Holotype: C-442 (the only specimen observed) stored in Department of Plant Science, University of Tasmania., a leaf (Cuticles). Its type locality is Cethana Dam, which is in an Oligocene lagoonal siltstone/sandstone in Australia.

    It was replaced with Euproteaciphyllum lomatioides by Jordan et al. (1998).

R. J. Carpenter and G. J. Jordan 1997 (Proteaciphyllum lomatioides)Leaf pinnatisect, leaflets with about six prominent serrations along apical margin, only one near apex on basal side. Epidermal cells small, roughly isodiametric, anticlinal walls sinuous, unevenly thickened. Trichome bases numerous, on abaxial surface associated with one epidermal cell, and on adaxial surface one to four.
