Diagnosis
Reference | Diagnosis | |
---|---|---|
R. S. Hill and H. E. Merrifield 1993 | Leaf relatively narrow (about 3 mm) and lobed, base and apex unknown. At least three major veins per lobe, each extending from the primary vein towards the margin, with the central one terminating in the apex of the lobe. Areoles well developed. Stomates restricted to one surface, randomly aligned, superficial, confined to areoles, which are surrounded by elongate cells over the veins. Stomates may occur within slight depressions in areoles. Small, unicellular trichome bases common over and between veins, trichomes not preserved. Trichomes not observed on non-stomatiferous leaf surface. |
