Taxonomy
Elaeocarpoxylon sloaneoides was named by Petriella (1972). It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype: LP-PB 9065, a wood. Its type locality is Puesto Fernández - NF Angiosperms, which is in a Paleocene terrestrial sandstone in the Cerro Bororó Formation of Argentina.
