Amphiboliacridites joanesi was named by Langiaux and Parriat (1974). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is La Sorme, Montceau-les-Mines, which is in a Stephanian B deltaic mudstone in France. It is the type species of Amphiboliacridites.
