Taxonomy
Bibio joursacencis was named by Théobald (1935). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Joursac (Musée Rames coll), which is in a Tortonian crater lake mudstone in France.

It was corrected as Bibio joursacensis by Civet (1976).
