Taxonomy
Tytthobittacus jarzembowski was named by Kopeć et al. (2016). Its type specimen is ISEA I-F/MP/5/1642/15, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Durlston Bay, Bed DB36c, Hard Cockle Beds, Swanage, which is in a Berriasian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal marl in the Lulworth Formation of the United Kingdom.
