It was reranked as the suborder Vespina by Rasnitsyn and Jarzembowski (1998), Heraty et al. (2011).

It was assigned to Hymenoptera by Rasnitsyn and Jarzembowski (1998); and to Unicalcarida by Heraty et al. (2011).
