Taxonomy
Ceratopogon succinicolus was named by Szadziewski (1993). Its type specimen is MfN MB.I-8-2, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Bitterfeld amber (MfN collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Germany.
It was corrected as Ceratopogon succinicola by Borkent and Wirth (1997), Borkent and Dominiak (2020).
