Taxonomy
Sehirus carpathiensis was named by Lis et al. (2015). Its type specimen is SNM Z 38494/1-2, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Cerová, level 29, which is in a Burdigalian slope sandstone in the Lakšárska Nová Ves Formation of Slovakia.
