Chasicostylus castroi
Taxonomy
Chasicostylus castroi was named by Reig (1957). Its type specimen is MLP 57-XI-9-2, a partial skull (fragment of left maxillary with M1-2, fragment of right mandibular ramus with posterior half of m1 and m2-3 complete, isolated left m1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Arroyo Chasicó, which is in a Chasicoan floodplain sandstone in the Arroyo Chasicó Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Chasicostylus.
