Raeta tenuiplicata was named by Bartrum (1919) [Age: Altonian to Tongaporutuan (late Early Miocene to early Late Miocene)
See Beu and Maxwell (1990) for further information [A. Hendy]]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kaawa Creek, which is in an Opoitian marine sandstone in the Kaawa Formation of New Zealand.
It was recombined as Macoma tenuiplicata by Powell and Bartrum (1930); it was recombined as Bartrumia tenuiplicata by Beu et al. (1990).
