Myrmecorhynchus novaeseelandiae
Taxonomy
Myrmecorhynchus novaeseelandiae was named by Kaulfuss and Dlussky (2016). Its type specimen is OU44569, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Foulden maar (I43/f8503), which is in an Aquitanian crater lake diatomite in the Foulden Hills Diatomite Formation of New Zealand.
