Hegetotherium novum
Taxonomy
Hegetotherium novum was named by Bordas (1939). Its type specimen is MACN Pv 11749, a skull (skull with right fragmented I1 and I3–M3 and left I2, C–M3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bryn Gwyn (Sarmiento Fm), which is in a Colhuehuapian terrestrial mixed carbonate-siliciclastic in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
It was recombined as Prohegetotherium novum by Kramarz and Bond (2017); it was considered a nomen dubium by Seoane et al. (2017).
