Ampyx yii was named by Lu (1965). It is not extant. Its type specimen is NI 16891 [selected by Zhou et al 1984], an exoskeleton.
It was recombined as Rhombampyx yii by Zhou et al. (1984) and Zhou and Zhou (2019).
