Mulinia eugenensis was named by Clark (1925). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UCMP 30372, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Spisula eugenensis by Moore (1976); it was recombined as Mactromeris eugenensis by Hickman (2015), Hendy (2020).
