Neopalachia bouceki was named by Grissell (1980). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (Florida State Collection of Arthropods), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
It was recombined as Gummilumpus bouceki by Jansta et al. (2017).
