Taxonomy
Archetingis ladinica was named by Montagna et al. (2018). Its type specimen is MCSN 8459, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Meride D, Val Mara, Monte San Giorgio (MCSN), which is in a Longobardian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Meride Formation of Switzerland. It is the type species of Archetingis.
