Taxonomy
Dendrocygna eversa was named by Wetmore (1924). Its type specimen is USNM 10547, a limb element (USNM 10547), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Benson, south, which is in a Neogene terrestrial horizon in Arizona.
