Taxonomy
Miocenoprasia grasseti was named by Boulard and Riou (1999). Its type specimen is MPVR R-486, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Montagne d'Andance, Saint-Bauzile, Privas (Riou collection), which is in a Turolian crater lake diatomite in France. It is the type species of Miocenoprasia.
