Taxonomy
Limnephilus metakaspievi was named by Ivanov and Melnitsky (2018). Its type specimen is PIN 254/1929, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Temnolesskaya Station, Stavropol (PIN collection 254), which is in a Miocene lacustrine shale in the Russian Federation.
