Gerontodacus punctus

Taxonomy
Protoculicoides punctus was named by Borkent (2000). Its type specimen is AMNH L-AE 115, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Lebanese amber, Bchare Mountain (AMNH collection), which is in a Barremian terrestrial amber in Lebanon.

It was recombined as Archiculicoides punctus by Szadziewski et al. (2016), Szadziewski (2018); it was recombined as Gerontodacus punctus by Borkent (2019), Borkent and Dominiak (2020).
