Taxonomy
Burseroxylon preserratum was named by Prakash and Tripathi (1975). Its type specimen is BSIP 35374, a wood, and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Hailakandi, which is in a Miocene/Miocene coastal sandstone in the Tipam Formation of India.
