Taxonomy
Eosciarites hermes was named by Greenwalt (2019). Its type specimen is USNM 624633, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Dakin site, Middle Fork Flathead River (Kishenehn), which is in a Lutetian lacustrine - large shale in the Kishenehn Formation of Montana. It is the type species of Eosciarites.
