Taxonomy
Culicoides (Groganomyia) myanmaricus was named by Szadziewski and Dominiak (2019). Its type specimen is NIGP171165, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber, Kachin amber (NIGP collection), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar.

It was recombined as Culicoides myanmaricus by Borkent and Dominiak (2020).
