Taxonomy

Eucosmodontidae was named by Jepsen (1940). It is not extant. Its type is Eucosmodon.

It was assigned to Taeniolabidoidea by Kielan-Jaworowska (1980); to Cimolodonta by Kielan-Jaworowska and Hurum (2001) and Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004); and to Taeniolabidoidea by Sloan and Van Valen (1965), Kielan-Jaworowska (1969), Kielan-Jaworowska (1974), Clemens and Kielan-Jaworowska (1979), McKenna and Bell (1997) and Lofgren et al. (2005).
